Episode 12 - Sloppy Preaching

A Critique of a "sermon" popular "preacher" named Erwin McManus.  He basically uses the bible to motivate people to live there best life now.  It is not as cheesy as Joel Osteen but the theology is.  His biggest error is the vagueness in which he preaches.  He often employs half-truths that don't have the contextual weight to give them the full meaning.  This has the effect of making him look good to the flesh and makes him just ambiguous enough to avoid being chided by Christians who know better.  Ultimately it is not Cross-centered or God-centered preaching but a messaged aimed to inspire us to reach our highest potential (for God).  This seeks to give man the glory and makes God our life-coach.  This man centered theology has many fruits and ties into our next topic of Calvinism and it's semi-palagean counterpart Arminian Theology.
